It’s the return of the Monday Morning Alumni Report here on the blog.

Let’s start with Boyd Wakelin and his Augustana Vikings. They went 2-0 last week beating Grant MacEwan College 5-3 on Wednesday and following that up with an emphatic 10-4 on Saturday over the same Griffins too. Wakelin had a great game on Saturday leading his team with a goal and 4 assists. A 5 point for Boyd who had 4 points on the season heading into the game.

Wakelin’s Vikings are 3 points back of NAIT for first place in the ACAC.

The York University Lions went 1-1 over the weekend. They played a double header with Lakeland and won the first game on Friday 4-2. The Lions followed that up with a 5-3 loss on Saturday. Brett Miller was in the lineup for both games but was unable to find his way onto the score sheet.

The UAA Seawolves lost both their game this weekend. On Friday a close 4-3 loss. The Minnesota Golden Gophers are ranked #1 in NCAA Div 1 hockey and they scored two late power play goals to come from behind and beat the Seawolves. Blake Tatchell had an assists in the loss. The Gophers then skated to a more lopsided 7-1 win on Saturday. Tatchell is tied for his team’s lead in scoring with 12 points in 20 games played.

And former North Stars D man Mitch Berg was in the lineup for Rosthern in the Fort Carlton Hockey League. Berg is playing senior hockey alongside another former North Star Brock Harrison. On Saturday Rosthern lost to Shellbrook 4-3. Berg and Harrison were both kept off the score sheet. Rosthern is in third in the league with Shellbrook leading the way.
