The Battlefords North Stars 3 game winning streak is over. They are now 0-3 against the Kindersley Klippers this season. They lost 3-0 last night. They say bad things come in 3s? Well it looks like they are right. It’s time for the North Stars to turn things around against their opponent for the Guy’s Furniture Rivalry Cup.
The Klippers are a good team. Of that there is no doubt. But so far this season we haven’t seen the North Stars at their best against Kindersley. The Klippers have done a good job against the North Stars this season. They have played with aggression, confidence and edge. In essence they have out “North Stared” the North Stars.
For the first time in 22 days the North Stars will play at the Civic Center here in the Battlefords. I know they are looking forward to playing in front of the home crowd again. What a great chance to bounce back in a big way against a rival and in front of the local fans. This team will be desperate to show what it is capable of….something they haven’t shown at the Civic Center yet. Not for a full 60 minutes anyway.
If you can’t get down to the CC….don’t fear. I will have the call of the game live on CJNB/CJNS starting at 7:15 with the Battlefords Coop pregame show. The puck drops at 7:30 on NorSask Farm Equipment North Stars hockey.
Some Keys for the Stars:
1) Just play – The Stars have to just show up and play their game.
2) Push Back – The Klippers have been playing with a lot of edge this season. They get under the skin of their opponents and are aggressive. The Stars need to match that…heck beat that level tonight.
3) Home Cooking – Take advantage of the energy in the building. The home fans. The comfort level being here on their home ice. They need to come out of the gates absolutely flying.
